The film is completely Lawrence’s show as he carries the film on his shoulders by doing two roles superbly.

Though Lawrence’s fresh idea in this sequel is decent, it was somewhere messed up in the proceedings. After an okay first half with nice horror and comedy elements, the narration in the latter half lacks a racy screenplay.

Director Lawrence is good as an actor and choreographer but misses the target slightly when it comes to direction.

Raghava Lawrence is undoubtedly one of the finest actors in the industry and the actor has proved the same with his mesmerizing performance in the movie. More than Raghava Lawrence, his character will speak more.

Oviya hasn't tried this kind of character in her previous films but she has acted very well. Vedhika performed naturally on the screen.

'Kanchana 3' has a decent story. The movie starts off on an interesting note. The first half is filled with comedy, romance and slight horror. The first half will also have some spooky scenes which will also be funny at the same time.

Raghava Lawrence’s energetic performance is undoubtedly a show stealer for this film. He has proved that he is undoubtedly one of the versatile actors in the industry.

Raghava Lawrence has not only proved his acting skills but also his storytelling as well as script writing skills with the ‘Muni’ series. The third installment ‘Kanchana 3’ has proved the same.

As ‘Kanchana 3’ is the sequel of the ‘Kanchana’ series, we can see the flavor of Kanchana in this movie as well. The entire first half is filled with the same comedy and slight horror scenes. Just like its previous versions, the interval episode is really impressive.

Given that we are now into the fourth film of the Muni aka Kanchana franchise, we know what we are signing up for. And Kanchana-3 gives us that – a man who gets scared easily, his bumbling but good-hearted family, a ghost that loves to spook them, tantrics, a sentimental backstory, and revenge.

And for a film whose primary target audience includes children, its objectification of the three female leads is condemnable. Almost every character, including the girls’ parents keep referring to them as “figurunga”.

It is the same old story where Raghava (Raghava Lawrence) and his family are haunted by different ghosts initially.

Raghava Lawrence just sleepwalks through the entire film, of course enjoying all the attention of the female cast in the process. There is nothing new that he does here that he has not done in the past films of the series. Raghava Lawrence has actually done better, to be honest.

One can say without an iota of doubt that Raghava Lawrence is a good director within the mass terrain. The stories have been his problem, but he has always managed to engage with fast-paced screenplays. Kanchana 3 is no different.

Lawrence repeats the same act that he does in the Muni series. There is nothing special about his performance in spite of donning dual roles. His grey haired look for Kaali is just for a change.

Lawrence has mastered the art of delivering mass friendly horror comedies. His Muni aka Kanchana franchise kept getting better with each film, but he seems to have ran out of ideas this time.

Lawrence doesn't try to bring anything new to the Kanchana's table. He simply delivers the same recipe that has worked wonders before. The name is enough to draw audiences in big numbers and Lawrence is aware of it.

Actor-filmmaker Raghava Lawrencce is back with the fourth instalment to the highly popular and successful Kanchana franchise which kicked off with the 2007 film Muni.

If you’ve seen the previous parts in the franchise, you already know the drill. The story is dated. When Kaali and Rosy are brutally killed, they return as ghosts and use Raghava to avenge their death.

Kanchana 1 and Kanchana 2 had very strong performances from Sarath Kumar and Nithya Menen. As a transgender seeking revenge, Sarath Kumar was phenomenal.

Raghava Lawrence has done it in his usual style. Kaali, the second role that he has played is exactly like his real life image –a guy who does charity.

The film has rich production values and rich camera work. Music is not up to the mark. Rest of the technical values are decent.

Raghava Lawrence has successfully created super fan following to “Kanchana” or “Muni” franchise. This is the fourth film in this series. If you watch any one of the movie in this franchise, you can easily guess what happens in the other movies.

I think the B and C audience really like Raghava Lawrence. Or else, they won’t hoot and whistle for everything this guy does. In Kanchana 3, Raghava plays the same man, who is afraid of ghosts.

This time, Raghava has “fun with” three “figures” (that’s how they are referred to) Vedhika, Oviya and Nikki Tamboli, as they generously flaunt their waist and butt (partially covered) throughout the film.

I am not revealing anything further because I believe it is going to ruin this ambitious film. (Pun-intended) Overall, Kanchana 3 is a frustratingly cringe-worthy piece of work masquerading as “horror comedy” that makes you squirm.
