Sai Pallavi's Show!

"Fidaa" is a niche film that works with movie lovers who seek realistic love stories and can bear slow pace. This is not for all. But one must appreciate Sekhar Kammula for making a movie with such a strong female character and going with the flow vis-a-vis commercial thinking. At the box-office, the film has high chances to click in A centres and overseas.

Strong emotions & light humor

First half of the film is very good as Sekhar Kammula sets up the plot and make us travel with the characters in Banswada. Second half has less of story and most of the scenes appear repetitive. Yet, Sekhar makes sure that a few of scenes between hero and heroine are entertaining. Plus points of the film are writing, characterization of heroine and strong emotions. On the flipside, there are a few issues in the latter part of second half. After Pelli Choopulu, here comes another film that makes Telangana dialect and culture a trend! On a while, Fidaa has strong emotions with nicely sprinkled humor. You may watch it!

Kammula's trademark

Sans melodrama, 'Fidaa' gets it going. The inflection point may not be novel, but the narration makes the difference. Kammula's trademark elements bring the 'happy days' back.

Fidaa is one of the most genuine films in recent past and it will surely impress the niche audience. It may not appeal to the mass audience due to its slow paced screenplay. It should do well in overseas market and in cities. Varun's wait for a hit is finally over. Go watch it.

Break-up in TS, love in US

Varun Tej fits the NRI role perfectly. He has improved a lot from his last film and acts naturally. Sharanya, has given a superb performance. Raja, as Varun’s brother, is decent. The second half of the film drags a bit and the finale has little appeal, but on the whole, Fidaa is worth watching and is definitely a strong come back for director Sekhar Kammula.
