Predictable screenplay, weak direction and too much focus on Allu Arjun have affected the movie negatively. The characterisation of Murali Sharma is also not that effective. Harish Shankar has left his stamp as writer than director. He is known for writing clever punch lines and he has many such here. But he has completely disappointed with his shabby direction.

Decent mix of comedy and action

DJ is an out and out Allu Arjun film to the core. The star hero is a major attraction and carries the film with his energetic performance. Pooja Hegde’s glamor, good comedy, and some mass elements will go supremely well with the masses. Collections wise, this film will do quite well as there is no big film coming up in the near future. Finally, if you ignore the routine story line, lag in the second half and keep your expectations in check, DJ ends up as a good watch this weekend.

Sabhya Samajaniki Routine Message

First half of the film is solid with good humor, enjoyable songs, Pooja's glamour and Allu Arjun in top form. Second half is a complete letdown though. One would expect a splendid confrontation between hero and villain at the intermission point. But the proceedings turn utter predictable as even the comedy takes the back seat until the end.

Killer Chef

Duvvada Jagannadham looks more like a Shankar kind film with added entertainment, but minus proper foundation in story. Plus points of the film are Allu Arjun’s superb performance, Pooja Hegde, Subbaraju’s delusional comedy, dialogues and action episodes (especially pre-climax where director mixes emotion in the fight). But, the climax is in lighter vein and it’s a kind of experiment. The likability of the film depends on how audiences gets convinced by the climax.

DJ - What Message do you wish to convey with a Routine Cinema?

While the First Half of 'DJ' is decent, Second Half is quite boring to say the least. Weaving a story around Agri-Gold Scam might make the subject appear contemporary. Other than that there is no freshness in this movie. Most disappointing aspect is the Climax. Post the screening, Audience express the doubt how did Bunny who is very choosey picked up such a subject.

Secret life of a vigilante

Made to a template, 'DJ' is extremely hero-dependent, relying perhaps excessively on Bunny's wide-ranging abilities. Predictability aside, the climax is thusso, thussasya.. leave it. Dialogues in places are enjoyable for sure.

Allu Arjun tried his best to make the character look convincing with his modulation but he couldn’t attain perfection. Director Harish Shankar has written a story which can be called as a routine one with some heroic moments and eye and ear feast songs. As said by him in audio release function that it is going to be a proud movie for fans, it is not going to be so in terms of content. To summarise, DJ is a regular commercial movie which can be watched for single time.

Allu Arjun has played both sides of his character very well. Playing the Brahmin boy and getting the typical accent right must have been difficult, but he did it. Duvvada Jagannatham is a typical commercial entertainer with a routine story, and with Allu Arjun’s entertaining dialogues working for the film.

The chemistry between Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in the film has already become a hit, thanks to music by composer Devi Sri Prasad. All the songs from the film are well received. The movie is special for producer Dil Raju as it is a landmark film in his career.
