Engaging in parts. Sundeep Kishan has got a realistic character -- that of a simple boy-next-door. His performance is very realistic in this movie than his previous films. His acting is natural. Heroine Mehreen does not have much role, other than appearing in couple of scenes and songs. Technical values are fine. Cinematographer has created the right mood for this action drama. Pace of the movie is inconsistent, editing should have been crispier. Director Suseenthiran has developed a particular style in telling stories. The director keeps suspense till the end before revealing the real motive. But the big revelation doesn’t seem convincing. This film can be watchable in a leisure mood on TV as it has slow narration and takes much time to get to the point

కేరాఫ్ సూర్య.. డిఫరెంట్ థ్రిల్లర్

సందీప్ కిషన్ పక్కింటి కుర్రాడిలా అనిపించే పాత్రలో మెప్పించాడు. అతడి నటన సహజంగా సాగిపోయింది. ఎక్కడా తడబాటు లేకుండా తన పాత్రను చేసుకుపోయాడు. హీరోయిన్ మెహ్రీన్ పాత్ర చిన్నది. ఆమెను చాలా తక్కువ సన్నివేశాలకు పరిమితం చేశారు.. దర్శకుడు సుశీంద్రన్ తమిళంలో తీసిన కొన్ని సినిమాలు గతంలో తెలుగులోకి కూడా అనువాదమయ్యాయి. అందులో ‘నా పేరు శివ’.. ‘పల్నాడు’ లాంటి సినిమాలు చూస్తే వీటిలో కామన్ గా కనిపించే కొన్ని అంశాలు గమనించవచ్చు. ఒక రకంగా ‘నా పేరు శివ’కు కొనసాగింపులాగా అనిపిస్తుంది ‘కేరాఫ్ సూర్య’. కానీ అందులో ఉన్నంత బిగి ఇందులో లేదు. కానీ ఇందులోనూ చెప్పుకోదగ్గ మూమెంట్స్ ఉన్నాయి. డి.ఇమాన్ పాటలు పెద్దగా ఆకట్టుకోవు.  నేపథ్య సంగీతం బాగుంది. లక్ష్మణ్ ఛాయాగ్రహణం ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. ఇక్కడ సుశీంద్రన్ స్టయిల్ కనిపిస్తుంది. ద్వితీయార్ధంలో ఒక మూడ్ క్రియేట్ చేయడంలో సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ కీలక పాత్ర పోషించింది. నిర్మాణ విలువలు బాగున్నాయి. ఇక సుశీంద్రన్ దర్శకుడిగా తన ముద్ర చూపించాడు. కథనం ఇంకొంచెం క్రిస్ప్ గా.. రేసీగా ఉండాల్సింది.

C/O Surya is a different film, unlike the routine stuff that we get to watch these days. The film has an interesting story revolving around a crime backdrop. The way the director narrated it has been interesting to the core. The family elements were also included well in the film. The screenplay is good in parts but it could have been better. The casting is good and the performances are nice. The director tried to come up with some unnecessary commercial elements and the forced comedy is a disadvantage.

Sundeep Kishan plays a boy next door without any heroism for the most part. Mehreen is a gloried extra in the movie with nothing much to do.  Music by D Imman is alright, but the background score is terrific. The cinematography is alright. Editing is neat. Dialogues are good in parts. The movie needed some depth and that could have been possible by making either heroine engage in the narrative or give some twists with the friend character.

C/O Surya has a no-nonsense story written with multiple engaging threads within. Director Suseenthiran, who his peculiar style and ease in narration intense thrillers, made sure that whole proceedings maintain enough suspense till the end. Total three threads run in parallel and interlinked at a crucial point. Except Surya’s love track , the remaining two are narrated in an engaging way by the director. C/O Surya is a decent crime and suspense thriller laced with family backdrop. Director suseenthiran has succeeded in narrating this film with engaging screenplay and enough suspense. Since comedy, songs and commercial elements are not thoroughly explored, box-office potential is a little doubtful.
