Bluff Master

Though Bluff Master never runs out of steam, the director Gopi Ganesh Pattabhi and his screenplay stumble in striking an emotional connect to the story. The film revolves around Uttam (Satyadev Kancharana) who swindles money from the gullible and the greedy lot.

The story then takes a U turn of sorts, marking Uttam’s transformation into a good guy, all thanks to Avani.

Bluff Master, however, works only in parts and so does the over-smart nature of Uttam, played by Satyadev.

Hero Satyadev is perfect in the role of a con man. His screen presence is good and Satya’s performance is very impressive in a few manipulation crime scenes.

The first fifteen minutes of the film runs on a flat note with some kind of Bakara comedy. Though the film is all about manipulating the public, a few episodes of a con man who loots crores of public money comes out of the jail just like that.

On the whole, Bluff Master is the story of a con man which impresses to an extent. Hero Satyadev leads from the front and makes his conman role interesting.

Corny Masala

Satya Dev is very sincere in his effort. However, he doesn't suit for this role at all. Swetha Nandita irritates with her over action. Prudhvi is okay.

The film has decent production values. Cinematography is neat. Dialogues are its main asset. Some punch lines have worked out well.  

"Bluff Master" is remake of 2014 hit Tamil movie "Sathuranga Vettai". The original movie was structured into episodes, which provided some uniqueness to the regular story of a conman.

Satyadev Kancharana is undoubtedly the highlight of the film. The way he portrayed all the emotions is a delight to watch.

The production values are rich. The runtime is crisp. The music by Sunil Kashyap will add extra brownie points. Background music is astounding.

The director has prepared a gripping story. Though it is not an edgy thriller, we can say that the suspense will captivate the audience. As the movie is the debut film of Gopi Ganesh Pattabhi, we can see some flaws in his direction, but they won’t disturb the flow. 

The only relief in the film is Satyadev's performance who manages to wear several hats. Satyadev does it with ease. 

After Romeo, director Gopi Ganesh has failed yet again in giving a convincing narration. 

Bluff Master has an interesting premise of greed. But the way director Gopi messed it up so badly that audiences are forced to look at nearest exit.
