Bommali to Bhaagamathie

Anushka steals the show. This ranks one of her best performances though there is hardly any new angle. The film largely has Malayalam actors in the cast. Unni Mukundan as Anushka’s partner is okay. Senior Malayalam actor Jayaram as the main villain is perfect.

The film is said to have been shot in 4K resolution by cinematographer Madhie. It has lavish and bright visuals aided by splendid production design by Raveendar.

Overall, “Bhaagamathie” works for some of its interesting moments, good technical values and terrific production values. It has some commercial elements that can appeal to larger audiences.

‘భాగమతి’కి నిర్మాణ విలువలు.. సాంకేతిక హంగులు పెద్ద బలంగా నిలిచాయి. యువి క్రియేషన్స్ స్థాయికి తగ్గట్లుగా సినిమా రిచ్ గా తెరకెక్కింది. ఆర్ట్ డైరెక్టర్ రవీందర్ తన కెరీర్లోనే వన్ ఆఫ్ ద బెస్ట్ అనదగ్గ పనితనం చూపించాడు. భాగమతి బంగ్లాను తీర్చిదిద్దిన తీరు అమోఘం. ‘

అరుంధతి’.. ‘రుద్రమదేవి’ తరహాలోనే ‘భాగమతి’ కూడా అనుష్కకు ఒక ప్రత్యేకమైన సినిమాగా నిలుస్తుందనడంలో సందేహం లేదు. ఈ సినిమాకు ప్రధాన ఆకర్షణ అనుష్కే. కథలో కీలకమైన పాత్రలో మలయాళ నటుడు జయరాం తన ప్రత్యేకతను చాటుకున్నాడు. ఉన్ని ముకుందన్ పాత్ర చిన్నదే అయినా చక్కటి నటనతో తన పాత్రను గుర్తుంచుకునేలా చేశాడు. ఆశా శరత్ నటన కూడా బాగుంది. మురళీ శర్మ పాత్రకు తగ్గట్లు నటించాడు. విద్యుల్లేఖ.. ప్రభాస్ శీను.. ధన్ రాజ్ కొంత మేర నవ్వించారు.

మొత్తంగా చూస్తే ‘భాగమతి’ అంచనాలకు తగ్గ స్థాయిలో లేదు కానీ.. ఇందులో ప్రేక్షకుల్ని ఎంగేజ్ చేసే అంశాలూ ఉన్నాయి.

Surprising Twist to Horror Tale!

Director Ashok who made Pilla Zamindar and Sukumarudu before came up with a very different script this time. Though it seems like a regular horror film at the beginning he springs in many surprises and impresses with his work. He made a quality product with the help of ace technicians. Madhie's cinematography is top notch. Thaman is in red hot form lately and he has come up with a brilliant background score yet again.

Anushka has come up with a brilliant performance. She has done even challenging roles in the past that she is very much at ease as Bhaagamathie. Jayaram shines in an important role. Unni Mukundan had a limited role but makes his presence felt.

On a whole, Bhaagamathie isn't another Arundhati for sure, but it has its moments to create a strong impact and give satisfactory feel to its viewers. The film is technically rich with brilliant performances from the main star cast.

Anushka Shetty who plays the roles of two shades named Chanchala and Bhaagmathi did a fantastic job. Jayaram as Eeswar Prasad is nice. Murali Sharma as ACP did a nice job. Prabhas Seenu, Dhanraj and Vidyu Raman generate few laughs. Asha Sarath is good as CBI Joint Director Vaishnavi Natarajan. Aadi Pinisetty is fabulous.

Songs of Bhaagmathi composed by SS Thaman who is in great form these days are good. Madhie as a cinematographer did a superb job and he gave some best visuals and frames for this movie. Editing is good. Production values of UV Creations are good.

To sum up, Bhaagmathi gives you horror effect in the first half and becomes political and murder mystery in the second half which entertain audience well.

దర్శకుడు అశోక్ ప్రెజెంటేషన్ కు, ఎగ్జైట్మెంట్ కు, థ్రిల్స్ కు స్కోప్ ఉన్న కథనే రాసుకున్నా అందులో ఆ ఎలిమెంట్స్ పూర్తిస్థాయిలో ఉండేలా కథనాన్ని, సన్నివేశాల్ని రాసుకోలేదు. ఇంటర్వెల్ బ్లాక్, అనుష్క పాత్ర, క్లైమాక్ ట్విస్ట్, కొన్ని హర్రర్ సన్నివేశాలు మినహా మిగతా ప్రొసీడింగ్స్ అన్నీ నెమ్మదిగా, బలహీనంగా సాగాయి. మధి తన సినిమాటోగ్రఫీతో సినిమాకు ఒక డార్క్ లుక్ ను తీసుకొచ్చారు. ఎస్.థమన్ బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ చాలా బాగుంది. కోటగిరి వెంకటేశ్వరరావుగారి ఎడిటింగ్ సినిమాపై క్లారిటీ ఉండేలా చేసినా కొన్ని అనవసరమైన సీన్లను తొలగించాల్సింది. యువీ క్రియేషన్స్ వారు పాటించిన నిర్మాణ విలువలు చాలా గొప్పగా ఉన్నాయి. రవీంద్రర్ సెట్ వర్క్ సూపర్ గా ఉంది.

అద్భుతమైన అనుష్క నటన, స్క్రీన్ ప్రెజెన్స్, మంచి ఇంటర్వెల్ బ్లాక్, ఊహించని క్లైమాక్స్, కొన్ని హర్రర్ సీన్లు, మంచి సెట్ వర్క్ ఇందులో ఆకట్టుకునే అంశాలుకాగా పెద్దగా బలంలేని సన్నివేశాలు, ఎగ్జైమెంట్ ఇవ్వలేకపోయిన, కొంత నెమ్మదైన కథనం నిరుత్సాహపరిచే అంశాలుగా ఉన్నాయి. మొత్తం మీద మంచి టెక్నికల్ స్టాండర్డ్స్ తో నిర్మితమైన ఈ చిత్రం ఒక డీసెంట్ సినిమాను చూసిన అనుభూతిని ఇస్తుంది.

Horror Coated Predictable Thriller Anushka has got a role that puts her at the center stage of the proceedings.

Director G Ashok has come up with another subject that needs a tight screenplay to work along with a performance that can mask the apparent flaws. SS Thaman once again proves to be adept at giving a perfect score for a horror or thriller based subject. The cinematography is fine. Editing could have been better. The writing is plain.

The movie opens excitingly, and it is carried until the first thirty minutes or so, and then it gets into a routine jargon of horror comedy. It is alright but feels very repetitive and generic. The interval bang is excellent and gives high anticipation for the second half.

Performances wise, this is Anushka's best work again. G Ashok is the director of the film who has made it big with the movie. The production values by Studio Green and UV Creations are grand. Thaman's background score is a significant highlight in the movie. The film has excellent VFX and graphics work from one and all.

The major highlight of the film is the background score from Thaman which is one of his best background score efforts to date. The film is technically very sound, and it brought the required potential for the film to perform well at the box office. The movie Bhaagamathie is a reasonably engaging thriller with adequate twists
