Ram Gopal Varma is a visionary Tollywood director who gained global acclaim for his strong sense of anti-socialism and drama. Verma's debut film Siva (1989) with Nagarjuna was a cult classic that changed the way Tollywood made films since then. Siva won 3 awards at IFFI (International Film Festival of India) and this was just the beginning. Varma had won 4 Nandi awards as the best director and 1 as a Best Screenplay writer. Varma quickly became popular in Bollywood as well, with films like Rangeela, Satya, and Sarkar. Satya is considered one of the 100 best Indian films ever made. Varma was featured in a BBC documentary titled 'Bollywood Bosses' and FSLC, New York cited Varma as Bombay's most successful Maverick
